Become the Most Powerful Version of Yourself

Love Yourself First

Loving yourself can be one of the hardest things to do, but one of the most important things you can do for yourself.

You should be your own best friend, as you’re with yourself 24 hours.

Loving yourself is about enjoying your own company, trusting yourself, being self aware, recognizing your good qualities to being kind to yourself.

Many of us find it easier to love others than to love ourselves. But what happens when we do this is, we tend to find ourselves in unhealthy relationships with family, friends, lovers and ourselves.

You must learn to love yourself first, as it will show others how to love you along with creating healthier relationships in your life.

We Teach Others How To Treat Us

Others treat us based on how we treat ourselves. Perfect example are little kids; they know which parent they can get away with stuff and the parent they need to be on their best behavior.

The same goes with those around you from work, family, friends to strangers. It’s not about being mean and saying “Listen here this is how you treat me or else.”

You teach others through example of how you treat yourself. You may not realize this, but humans are great observers even when you don’t realize it.

When someone sees that you love yourself by putting yourself first and having no problem saying no, they know you won’t put up with certain stuff.

Don’t tell people how to treat you, show through example with how you treat yourself.

Learn To Say No More

In order to become your most powerful version, you must learn to say no to things that you absolutely don’t love or that keep you from becoming who you should be.

When we say yes to everything, we are showing others that we don’t put ourselves first.

We need to take time for ourselves and not let others walk all over us.

For example, when we always say "yes" to stuff, others see this and in a way can take advantage of you, even if they are not trying too. They see you as the "yes" person and the person to turn too for everything.

There’s nothing wrong with wanting to be there for others, but we need to be there for us first.

This all has to do with loving ourselves first and teaching others how to treat us.

Many might think it makes them demanding or a diva. There’s nothing demanding about not wanting to waste your time on things you don’t love or taking you away from becoming your most powerful self.

It shows others that you value yourself and your time. Plus there’s nothing wrong with not liking something.

If someone asks me to a sports game, I simply say no because I absolutely do not like sports. Then they learn over time to never ask me to a sports game and problem solved.

Stop Caring What Others Think

This is the number one thing, I believe, that holds people back from becoming the best version of themselves…caring way too much what others think.

If we stopped caring about what others thought about us, think of all the amazingess you wouldn’t hold back from the world.

The thing is, we think that others are talking about us but honestly sometimes they are too busy thinking the same thing.

And even if they are talking about you, who cares! People openly talk about me all the time, but that has never held me back from living my life or being fabulous.

So go out there and dance the night away, even if you’re not the best dancer.

The person who’s usually making fun of someone dancing, is the person who's just sitting there not having fun and wishing they had the courage to do what you’re doing, but too worried about what others might think of them.

People love to bring others down when that person is having a blast, looking their best, making things happen, and living their best life.

They want the attention off of you so that you’ll feel bad, stop doing what you’re doing and be boring like them.

When you stop caring about what others think of you, you realize how much you stop caring about others lives in general because you’re too busy living your best life!

Attaining Pleasure

We all deserve pleasure in our lives. Pleasure is not just sexual, it’s the simple things in life from watching the sunset to taking a relaxing bath.

Yet so many of us deny ourselves simple daily pleasures.

Download my workbook on “Attaining Pleasure Everyday” here as it covers so much more on this topic along with a worksheet to help you on your path to becoming your most powerful self.

Befriend Your Body

Not only is it important that you love yourself, but befriending your body is part of the process.

It’s one of the most important steps to achieving maximum self-confidence and empowerment.

The first step is to love ALL of yourself, flaws and all as we all have them. Start by focusing more on your positives rather than your negatives.

Download my workbook on “Befriending Your Body” here to help you on your journey to self love.

Negative Energy

There is negative energy all around us but you can do things to eliminate some of it to bring more positive energy into your life.

Negative energy can come from people and/or things, and can suck the life out of you if you let them.

It’s important to notice this negative energy in people from co-workers, lovers, friends, family to even strangers, so you can find ways to eliminate it.

Remember just because someone is a family member or a person you've known for a long time, it doesn't mean you have to put up with their negative behavior.

If they make you unhappy, for whatever reason, sit down and talk with them about it. If you find they can’t stop being negative, it might be time to remove them from your everyday life. Remember we teach people how to treat us, and this is another way to show others how we want to be treated.

You're in charge of your own happiness and just because someone is related to you, doesn’t mean you have to suffer their negative energy.

Also, things in your life can cause negative energy. You just need to identify what those are and learn ways to eliminate them. For example, a negative in your life could be your messy house to a loud vacuum cleaner.

You might be thinking, "What does a loud vacuum cleaner have to do with negative energy?"

Not everyone is sensitive to sound, but others are. You may not realize this, as I didn't, but every time my maid would vacuum it would immediately put my body on stress while she vacuumed my house for the next hour.

Once I thought about negative stressors, I realized my vacuum was one of them. So I bought a new vacuum that was quiet and what a difference it made.

It’s amazing when you eliminate these small things that are causing stress in your life, how much you feel like a weight has lifted from you.

Focus on eliminating the small first then working your way up to bigger things such as people in your life.

When you learn how to identify stressors, then take action for getting rid of negative energy, you begin to realize how much better you feel along with learning how to take control of your life.

New You, New Image

Reinvention is about realizing that you are the author of your own biography.

It’s important to reinvent yourself from time to time to help you in becoming your most powerful version of yourself.

Reinventing can be anything from a new hair style, job, wardrobe too deciding to travel more or go back to school.

It’s not changing who you are, it’s just improving on yourself.

We should be constantly growing and reinventing ourselves throughout our lives.

Maybe you start taking dance lessons and really get into the dance culture with what you wear to who you hang out with. But as time goes on, you’re now really into surfing and change how you dress, hair style to even who you hang out with.

There’s nothing wrong with wanting to try new things as businesses do it all the time with rebranding themselves, improving upon what they stand for, what products they carry to even changing their logos to color scheme.

I’m constantly improving myself, learning new things, and adding to my style.

Get Control Of Your Health

Getting control of your health isn’t about being a certain body type or size, it’s about getting control of your overall well-being.

This includes what we eat, drink, physical activity, self care, to how we take care of ourselves.

It’s one thing to improve yourself on the outside, but it’s even more important to improve your overall wellbeing on the inside.

You should practice balance to fully become the most powerful version of yourself.

When we aren’t in control of our health, we can get sick more, hurt our bodies with injuries and ignore what our bodies are trying to tell us.

Our bodies speak to us on a daily basis, yet so many of us don’t listen or ignore what it’s trying to tell us.

Getting in touch with our bodies through yoga, meditation, massage, to movement can teach you how to listen to your body when it talks to you.

If you’ve been neglecting your body and health, and you know who you are, now is the time to take charge.

I’m not asking you to start eating a vegan diet or to workout religiously everyday to fit into a size 0. This isn’t about looking a certain way, but it is about looking and feeling healthy.

When you take care of your body by moving daily, eating healthier, drinking more water, taking care of yourself physically and mentally along with getting yearly checkups it shows outwardly with a healthy glow.

Build Confidence

All of the above has to do with helping you to build confidence. If you can accomplish the above, becoming more confident will come naturally.

I believe that working on yourself, and with age and experience, comes confidence.

Try to apply one of these at a time rather than all of them at once. Doing so can make you feel overwhelmed and give up.

Change takes time and we are not perfect, so keep working on yourself on a daily basis and with time you will become the most powerful version of yourself. And remember, there’s always room for improvement as we are constantly learning, growing and perfecting ourselves.
